Boliden has been informed that a number of British and Scottish companies in the listed Travis Perkins Group have sued Boliden in an English court. The claim was filed with the Competition Appeal Tribunal in London and is in the process of being served on Boliden.

The information that Boliden has been provided with to date, contains a number of uncertainties and unsubstantiated allegations. As a result, it is at present not possible for Boliden to take any position in respect to the claim or to estimate what potential exposure, if any, it entails for Boliden.

Background
The basis for the claim is that Travis Perkins allegedly suffered financial loss as a result of the higher gross prices which Travis Perkins was charged due to the sanitary copper tubing cartel that Boliden and seven other companies participated in from June 1988 to March 2001 and later were fined for by the European Commission in 2004. The Commission's decision led, among other things to Boliden, following a judgment by the General Court in Luxembourg in May 2010 upholding the decision, paying MSEK 367 in fines and interest.
