Jonas Wiik new Exploration Director at Boliden

Jonas Wiik has been appointed as the new Exploration Director at Boliden Mines and will take up this position on 1 October 2013.

Jonas has worked within the Boliden for ten years, including eight within the exploration organisation. His most recent position is that of Near Mine Exploration Manager at Boliden Mines. Jonas holds an MSc in Geology and Mineralogy from Åbo Akademi, Finland. He will succeed Hans Årebäck who, after four years as Exploration Director, will now work with Business development and Strategy within Boliden Mines.

Successful exploration is vital for long-term mining operations and growth. Boliden has almost 100 years of exploration experience and today attracts professionals from around the world. Boliden has positioned itself as the European leader in exploration of zinc and copper, and exploration is currently being carried out at a number of locations in Sweden and Ireland.
