Boliden joins the ICMM

Boliden has been granted membership in the International Council on Mining and Metals (ICMM). ICMM is an international organization dedicated to a safe, fair and sustainable mining and metal industry.

ICMM brings together 28 mining and metal companies as well as 37 national, regional and commodity associations. The purpose of the organization is to strengthen the social and environmental performance of the industry, and to serve as a catalyst for change, enhancing its contribution to society.

- Our vision is to become the most climate-friendly and respected metal supplier in the world and membership in ICMM is an important step in that direction. Our performance in sustainable metal production is already very strong today, but we are constantly striving to be even better, says Mikael Staffas, President and CEO of Boliden.

Through membership, Boliden undertakes to implement ICMM's Mining Principles within among others dam safety, sustainable development and corporate governance.
