Nya Boliden redovisar ett rekordresultat för första halvåret 2004

Första halvåret 2004, jämfört med första halvåret 2003

  • Nettoomsättningen ökade till 9 045 (4 636) Mkr.
  • Rörelseresultatet steg till 831 (210) Mkr.
  • Resultat efter finansiella poster förbättrades till 614 (69) Mkr.
  • Nettoresultatet ökade till 546 (169) Mkr.
  • Resultat per aktie steg till 2,36 (1,59) kr.
  • Kassaflödet från den löpande verksamheten uppgick till 910 (336) Mkr.
  • Skuldsättningsgraden har väsentligt förbättrats till 99 (154) procent.

Andra kvartalet 2004, jämfört med andra kvartalet 2003

  • Nettoomsättningen ökade till 4 547 (2 298) Mkr.
  • Rörelseresultatet steg till 397 (84) Mkr.
  • Resultat efter finansiella poster förbättrades till 307 (15) Mkr.
  • Nettoresultatet ökade till 280 (39) Mkr.
  • Resultat per aktie steg till 1,11 (0,37) kr.

Övrigt

  • I april slutfördes den övertecknade nyemissionen som tillförde Boliden cirka 1,4 miljarder.
  • I juni tecknades ett tioårigt samarbetsavtal avseende ökade leveranser av kopparkoncentrat från den portugisiska gruvan Neves Corvo.
  • Ytterligare potential för verksamhetssynergier har identifierats.
  • I juli slutfördes avyttringen av den kanadensiska gruvan Myra Falls.

Consequences of abnormal seismic activity at the Garpenberg mine

The abnormally high seismic activity in Garpenberg has decreased and mining production at low levels will commence in the second quarter. The first quarter throughput was just under 0.8 Mton instead of the expected slightly over 0.9 Mton at already communicated grades. All inspections are not yet complete but production in the most affected part of the mine is not expected to resume in 2026. Until further notice, Garpenberg's production is therefore estimated to be around 30 percent of the guided capacity of 3.7 Mton per year. For the first quarter of 2026, EBITDA will be negatively affected by approximately SEK -400 million at today's prices and terms.

Boliden's capital market update: Future-focused investments in Garpenberg and Rönnskär

Boliden has decided to invest in a new hoist system at Garpenberg and an industrial demonstration plant for the production of supplementary cementitious material at Rönnskär. The investments, which amount to SEK 4 billion and SEK 1.5 billion respectively, will strengthen the earnings capacity of both units and lay the foundation for exploiting further future opportunities.
